At FES we believe that hard work and high expectations can make us successful! Our website is currently under construction, but check back soon to see all of our great new features!

  • It has come to my attention that FES students are being dropped off at the front of the school and being left unattended in the mornings. This is completely UNSAFE for your child. FES Staff reports at 7:00 A.M. If your child is dropped off at 6:30 or any time prior to 7:00, your child is unsupervised. These children are not to be let in by people who may get here early because there isn’t anyone to watch your child at that time. If a teacher comes in early, he/she goes to his/her classroom to work, not stay with the children that are dropped off early. If children are left unattended outside anything could happen to them. Please use the car rider line, which starts running at 7:00 A.M. Dropping your child off at school early and leaving them unattended could be considered a neglect issue. For your child’s safety, please do not drop them off at the school and leave them.
  • Your child’s attendance at school is extremely important to his/her education. His/her attendance is also extremely important to the funding for teachers. The state starts a 20 day count of attendance for the 20 days after Labor Day. This year’s window is September 2nd-September 29th. Our teacher units for next year are funded from the attendance at FES for these 20 days. We need everyone here every day for this 20 day count. Please be mindful of this count that the state takes for these 20 days. If a student misses a day, even if it is excused, it counts against our attendance count with the Alabama State Department of Education. If you have appointments please make sure your child is at school as much as possible the day of the appointment. If you are making new appointments please make them after September 29th.  If you have questions please call the school. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.
  • School Picture Orders are due Friday, September 19, 2014. Please make checks payable to Bill Miller. Please note that this is a fund raiser for the school. We make a small profit off the sales.
  • There are still openings for Pre-k and Head Start here at FES. If you know of a 3 or 4 year old child that would like to attend here at FES please contact the school.
  • Friday, October 10th is a work day for teachers but an off day for students. Teachers will be contacting you to schedule conferences on that day. Please let teachers know if you would like to schedule a conference.
  • Fall Break is Monday, October 13th-Friday, October 17th. There will be no school that week.
  •  Thursday, October 23, 2014, is the FES PTO Fall Festival. Please make plans to attend and bring your family. If you are interested in helping with the Fall Festival please contact Rhonda Patty or Mary Bell. We need lots of donations for the fall festival. Please start watching for notes in your child’s folder. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
  • The Fall Festival is Thursday, October 23rd from 5:00-7:30. We have had some donations come in. Please send those donations as soon as possible. If you were asked to make a homemade cake, please send it the day of the festival.
